People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.

We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

Architecture Photography

Saturday 11 January
Church Street - 10am - 2 Hours

Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

In this session, we will also photograph specific land marks around the venue. Join us!

Aaron explained an unusal method of portrait shots. Unlike most people he suggested using 24mm focal length and how this would allow more creative shots.

My wife and I regularly go for walks along the River Deben at Woodbridge, often ending up at the Woodbridge Tidemill. Having stopped for a cup of coffee we walked around to the Tidemill when I noticed the two sea scout boats moored at low tide. Recently I have been taking more photos in monotone to improve my photography skills and I thought that the view of the boats moored at low tide were worth a shot. photo taken in Edinburgh in one of the city parks, I was visiting with the intention of taking a few photos on the autumn theme. The photographic equipment used was a canon eos 7D mark 2 and a Canon EF 70 - 300 mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lens. I took the photo from the ground to capture the right angle of view and perspectives, significantly reflecting the dynamics of the shot.
