We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations around Ipswich.

New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

Jonathan Prosser
I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work as an instructor for the Ipswich Photography Group. I have had an interest in photography all my life and have embraced the advances in digital and its creative possibilities. Over a number of years now I have been building a portfolio in Landscape, Nature and Architecture while making plans to move my enthusiasm to a professional standard. I have recently gained a Diploma in Professional Photography and I have worked within the property sector while some of my pictures have been published in local print. I was born and I have lived in Suffolk all my life and I know of many beautiful places on our doorstep. I will be happy to share and explore these places with you in the future, there are so many great opportunities, not just in summer but throughout the year. From photographing birds migrating to charming villages and from walking through Constable Country and along the Suffolk Coastline from the River Stour and North to the River Alde. There are so many skills to learn both technical and creative. I hope you will enjoy my challenges, learn new things and improve your skills while most of all enjoying yourself. Christchurch Park Ipswich with Jackie Cooper, 17th April. This lesson was carried out in a very relaxed and friendly way and, being a small group meant everybody got all the help and advice they needed. I needed help with composition and I came away from the lesson feeling that I had now got a much better understanding. I also found out a bit about Histograms, which is something I hadn't really bothered with before. All in all, a very enjoyable and informative 2 hours. Many thanks Jackie, and it was a pleasure meeting you.
